I love GoKarting. But every time I go, I have one problem: Golfer’s Elbow. Every time. Does anyone else have the same problem? Stretches? Solutions?
I can’t describe to you how annoying it is. I’m a pretty healthy person. I eat right, I do 1-2 hours of cardio every day. I also do a couple pull ups every day. Yet, without fail, I end up what feels like the power of Lucifer eating the inside of my elbow the day after racing. I did just 13 laps the other day and blam, elbow hell on Monday morning.
(not my video, but same track)

Taking an anti-inflammatory before you go karting might help.

Are you holding yourself up by your arms? Try sitting closer such that you’re not holding yourself up by your arms, in addition to just steering.

Hm, interesting. I feel like I sit up on the wheel quite a bit.

This. Until I realized that I needed to stop supporting my big, stupid torso with the same arms I was using to steer the kart badly, I always seemed to come out of a kart event feeling terrible.

Try popping an antiflammatory, like a Tylenol or Advil

Let the seat hold you. Leave all your weight go to the OUTSIDE of corners, and don’t hold yourself with the wheel. By shifting your own weight toward the outside of the corner, you will have more grip (more weight on the outside rear wheel), you will therefore be faster and less tired.
Keep in mind these have NOTHING on properly fast karts... Imagine a similar kart, but that does 0 to 60 in less than 3s and reaches speeds up to 170kph, along with ultra soft compund. If you were to hold onto the wheel in those, you would most likely be dead in 2 or 3 corners lol. You must not resist the centrifugal force with your upper body. Shift your weight toward the outside of the corner.
Quick exemple of how fast a properly quick kart can be... imagine if you were to hold yourself now :)
That was my first time on this kart, so sorry for the crappy trajectories :)

Compression elbow sleeve. Wear it for a few weeks. Yeah, it’ll feel better quick but don’t be a dick. Wear it for 6 weeks. It looks kinda badass if you get a black one. Or end up doing this later. Your call.

Next time, don't bring golf clubs with you. There's no room on the kart.

Get one of those elbow wraps with the little air pillow inside. Wear it for a week or two, then continue wearing it for any activities that make your elbow hurt. It's just a stupid air pillow pushing on the tendon, but it works... in my experience and it's way cheaper than surgery or cortisone injections.

gripping the wheel too hard- the flexor tendons are getting abused and the microscopic tendon damage from prior epic driving stints isn’t getting time to heal.

Strap your belts down uncomfortably tight (lap first), use a booster seat if you’re under 5'10" (thats how it is at my local places) and try to stay loose while driving you shouldn’t have a death grip on the wheel at any time.

I’ll second JayVincent. Get yourself a tennis elbow strap. Wear it for a week or two, then wear it when you’re elbow is bothering you, then only wear it when doing stuff that bothers your elbow.
